PREMIUMS
The weekly premium for Members is €3.54 per week less Tax Relief and PRSI relief. (These reliefs are automatically allowed at source).
 
weekly premium for Spouses is €3.03 per week. Including free Children's Life Cover of €10,000 (ages 1 to 21).
 

ELIGIBILITY
If you are a member of the CWU aged under 60 yrs, you are eligible to apply.

 

COMMENCEMENT OF COVER FOR NEW MEMBERS
Cover will only commence when deductions from your salary/wages begin. Certificates of Scheme Membership will be issued to all enrolled Members. .

 

PLAN BENEFITS
In the event of your death €100,000 will be paid to your Estate or Dependents.

PLAN COST & TAX RELIEF
Because this Scheme is exclusively for CWU members, a very attractive rate of €3.54 per week for the member and €3.03 per week for the spouse has been negotiated.
This will be deducted directly from your salary/wages.

The Scheme qualifies for Tax and PRSI relief (as it is an approved AVC Scheme) so if you are paying tax at 41% the net cost of this Cover is as low as €1.96 per week.

CESSATION OF COVER

Cover will cease if one or more of the following arise:-

1 Payment of premiums is discontinued

2. You cease to be a member of the CWU

3 You pass the age of 65.

CAREER BREAK
Cover can be maintained during a career break provided the premiums are paid.

HALLIGAN INSURANCES should be contacted one month in advance of career break giving full details of the circumstances and a decision will then be obtained. The maximum duration of a career break allowed during which cover may be maintained is 1 year.
